A new web forum called the Bermuda Solar User Group launched this week. The aim of this forum is to create a community resource that provides answers to common questions such as how to obtain planning permission for solar systems, and how to get them interconnected to BELCO. The web forum is powered by Google Groups.

The World Bank will invest heavily in clean energy and only fund coal projects in "circumstances of extreme need" because climate change will undermine efforts to eliminate extreme poverty, says its president Jim Yong Kim.

Today [25-Nov] Bermuda Engineering launched a do-it-yourself solar kit designed exclusively for the Bermuda market. Greenrock welcomes the launch of the kit, which is on sale at the special launch price of $2,500 until 28 November and has an expected productive lifespan of 25+ years. Once installed, the solar PV panels should pay for themselves many times over in savings on electricity bills. The press release reads;

Bermuda’s Annual Beachfest Emancipation Celebration, hosted by The Chewstick Foundation, is one of Bermuda’s largest events; held annually on Emancipation Day during the festive Cup Match holiday period. Chewstick’s goal, in hosting the event, which they started to do around 9 years ago, was to bring the scattered groups of friends and families together, uniting everyone in one large event, instead of many disconnected gatherings.
