Dear Sir,

On behalf of Greenrock and the Earth Hour Council, I am writing to thank everyone who made Earth Hour 2014 such a success.

This annual event is only made possible through hundreds of hours of hard work by dozens of committed individuals, and through the support of our Sponsoring Partners. In particular, I would like to thank

our two Lead Sponsors, BELCO and Appleby. Greenrock also received financial support from many other Bermuda businesses including ACE Bermuda, Bacardi International, BTC, Butterfield & Vallis, Catlin, Orbis and Tops Ltd.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the entertainers, vendors, volunteers, retailers, Living Green Expo participants, Washington Properties, Bermuda Emerging Young Professionals and the staff at the Corporation of Hamilton, all of whom helped create a day full of vibrant community spirit.

A special thank you to Bermudian Rebecca Faulkenberry and her Broadway co-star, Reeve Carney, for bringing a special Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark performance to our celebration. Spider-Man was the first superhero designated by global Earth Hour organizers to illustrate the power we each have to make a difference. As the cast of the new Spider-Man film gathered in Singapore during Earth Hour, we were privileged to be the only country with members of the Broadway musical participating in its observance.

Earth Hour offers Bermuda the opportunity to be a part of a global initiative to address the critical issue of sustainability. While it is a symbolic moment during the year, its power comes in reminding us that an abiding concern about the future of our Bermuda and of our planet is shared – across the Island and around the world.

We look forward to seeing you at next year's Earth Hour which will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Executive Director
