Welcome to Greenrock

Greenrock is working to empower individuals and companies to do their part in making Bermuda socially, economically and environmentally more sustainable.

We were particularly pleased that the Minister noted that:

"...from a Ministry perspective, we are pleased with the programme because it is cross-curricular. Environmental education is not one subject, it is incorporated into all subjects, reaching every interest and ability'

This is only the third year of Greenrock running the Eco-Schools Programme, and it has grown from eight schools at the end of the 2013-2014 school year to fifteen schools at the end of the 2015-2016 school year, impacting approximately 5,000 students in Bermuda, the majority in the public school system.

The Awards Ceremony saw both West Pembroke Primary and the Bermuda College officially join Somersfield Academy and Stepping Stones PreSchool as Green Flag schools, and Warwick Academy, Victor Scott and Lyceum PreSchool recognised as Green Seed participants. We expect additional Green Flags to be awarded throughout the 2016-2017 school year.

The future of the Eco-Schools Programme in Bermuda is a bright one, and we are excited at the growth and success of this programme to date. We look forward to seeing the Programme continue to grow throughout the 2016-2017 school year - our long-term hope is that every school in Bermuda will one day become an Eco-School.

The Awards Ceremony also recognised those schools participating in our Water Explorers Programme.

On hand to discuss the achievements of this Programme were two representatives of HSBC Bermuda - representing HSBC Global - Chris Brown and Judy Doidge. Dalton E Tucker school were the overall outstanding Water Explorer Programme participants this year.

The Awards Ceremony also featured break-out sessions involving fun educational activities.

Greenrock are thankful to HSBC Bermuda for funding the Awards Ceremony, and Hamilton Princess for hosting us and providing delicious refreshments for all involved.
