Greenrock is gearing up for this year’s Earth Hour, with the event set to include the 5K Glow Fun Walk & Run, live entertainment, vendors, fun activities, speeches and more.

“Earth Hour began in 2007, in Sydney, Australia, and has since grown to engage more than 172 countries around the world. In Bermuda, Greenrock organised the first local celebration of Earth Hour in 2008, and it has been an annual fixture on our calendar since,” a spokesperson said.

A new web forum called the Bermuda Solar User Group launched this week. The aim of this forum is to create a community resource that provides answers to common questions such as how to obtain planning permission for solar systems, and how to get them interconnected to BELCO. The World Bank will invest heavily in clean energy and only fund coal projects in "circumstances of extreme need" because climate change will undermine efforts to eliminate extreme poverty, says its president Jim Yong Kim.

Greenrock welcomes the launch of the kit, which is on sale at the special launch price of $2,500 until 28 November and has an expected productive lifespan of 25+ years.
